Parables: Jesus the Master Storyteller (July 11, Aug. 1-8/21)

One of Jesus’ favourite ways of teaching was through parables. Parables are stories about familiar things, used to help the listener understand something else. Often Jesus told parables to help people begin to grasp things like the nature of God’s kingdom and the character of God. While the content of the parables may be foreign to us, a little bit of historical and cultural context goes a long way toward bridging that gap.

Over these weeks we welcome the Rev. Dr. Ken Foo, (Director, Toronto Baptist Ministries) to our pulpit to help us hear from God through some of Jesus’ parables.
