Welcome to Walmer Road Baptist Church
in the Annex Neighbourhood- Come visit us and find
A caring community ready to welcome you. Our worship services are warm and casual —you’re free to sit, stand, or move as you engage with God. Services include Bible-based preaching, music with lyrics on screen, and times of prayer. Communion is observed monthly, open to all who wish to participate..
You’ll find a diverse group of about 25–30 adults from various backgrounds and countries, casually dressed in jeans and sneakers, though some dress more formally. At the back, there’s a small children’s area with chairs, a table, and toys, ready for use whenever kids join us.
There are places to sit all over the room. Please sit where you would be most comfortable. The majority of the seating is in the centre of the room, but there are also some couches at the back, a table with a puzzle on the west side, and more tables on the east side of the room. You will find that most people (but not all) sit in the seating in the centre of the room.
At the back of the room, in the middle, there is hot water for tea and hot chocolate as well as coffee available. There is also water in a small fridge in the same area. Please help yourself before, during, and after the service.
We are accessible
At Walmer, we believe in being a warm and welcoming community for those that pass through our doors. To be able to do so, we have done our utmost to ensure that everyone can get through our doors and move around freely in our spaces.
