On Sundays after lunch (which is provided) we are reading and discussing the book, Healing our Broken Humanity, by Grace Ji-Sun Kim and Graham Hill. If you would like to participate, please email our pastor and she will get you a copy of the book.
In preparation for this week’s discussion, please read the Forward to the book (pages 1-6) and consider:
Think of a time when you experienced weakness. How did it make you feel?
What are some of the ways we try to overcome or inoculate ourselves against weakness?
Think of a time when you experienced being part of a diverse community. What were the challenges? What did you learn?
From the back cover:
Our broken world needs healing and hope, and Jesus calls us to be a peace-making and reconciling people. But how? Grace Ji-Sun Kim and Graham Hill offer Christian practices that can transform society, from lament and repentance to relinquishing power, reinforcing agency, and more. Embodying these practices enables us to be the new humanity in Jesus Christ, so the church and world can experience reconciliation, justice, peace, and love.
