In our Baptist tradition, baptism is a public proclamation of faith in Jesus as well as a decision to follow Jesus to the best of one’s ability for the rest of one’s life. We baptise by full immersion, symbolizing the dying with Christ (as we go under the water) and then rising to new life with him (when we rise out of the water).
At Walmer, due to restrictions of our physical space, we perform baptisms mid-week, video record them, and then celebrate the baptism as part of our worship service the following Sunday.
