On Sundays after lunch (which is provided) we are reading and discussing the book, Healing our Broken Humanity, by Grace Ji-Sun Kim and Graham Hill. If you would like to participate, please email our pastor and she will get you a copy of the book.
This Week: Restore Justice
(The Tuesday group will be joining with us this Sunday rather than meeting at their regular time on Tuesday this week.)
Review chapter 5 (pages 91-105) and consider: What might it look like for me/us to practice restoring justice?
Also, during the worship service we will be hearing from Alison Ryan who works for CBM (Canadian Baptist Ministries) and will be speaking about justice and about some of the justice work CBM is involved in. (CBM is an organization we support, both through our denominational affiliation and through our own mission budget.) Alison will be joining us for our small group this Sunday.
From the back cover
Our broken world needs healing and hope, and Jesus calls us to be a peace-making and reconciling people. But how? Grace Ji-Sun Kim and Graham Hill offer Christian practices that can transform society, from lament and repentance to relinquishing power, reinforcing agency, and more. Embodying these practices enables us to be the new humanity in Jesus Christ, so the church and world can experience reconciliation, justice, peace, and love.
